Description

The Risk Associate helps to ensure that the firm:

  • Understand the nature and context of the risks which the firm, as a regulated bank and stockbroker faces;
  • Consider how these risks are currently controlled and assists the Risk Manager in making recommendations for an appropriate control regime;
  • Help ensure that all relevant risks are considered using a risk based methodology;
  • Help ensure that all relevant risks have appropriate mitigating controls that are fit for purpose with regard to the firm's organisational, customer and product risks;
  • Develop risk capital management reports (ICAAP & ILAA)
  • Develop risk appetite framework and reporting
  • Develop risk measures, stress testing and scenario analysis
  • Help ensure that the scope of the risk monitoring and of the transversal controls performed by the Risk department incorporate:

i. All operational risk;

ii. Due diligence upon the firm's custodians, bankers, key technology providers, RSP's, relevant group entities, and all other relevant third parties;

iii. Credit, counterparty, interest rate and market risk.

  • Assist in developing an appropriate risk/compliance monitoring programme (in conjunction with the Risk Manager);
  • Conduct due diligence visits and desk based analysis as necessary, on a risk based approach;
  • Contribute to building and developing an effective working relationship with the BRS Risk Manager, and ensures that all relevant and appropriate SG and BRS risk standards are sufficiently incorporated within the firm's risk processes;
  • Assist the Risk Manager in developing an appropriate suite of key risk indicators suitable for various stakeholders;
  • Contribute to the development of an effective methodology for ensuring that all operational risk incidents are identified and recorded, and appropriately escalated, with all required mitigating actions subsequently completed;
  • Ensure the escalation of incidents, regulatory breaches, and reportable breeches is effective;
  • Ensure that all required policies, procedures and operating activities are fit for purpose;
  • Ensure that all the client's people are aware of how the firm manages risk and the role that they play in the firm's effective risk management.

ICAAP/ILAA experience essential.
