Outsource UK Ltd are actively seeking to recruit a physical security engineer for a contract role on behalf of a client.

The Client
A leading Engineering and Defence organisation

The Job:
To maintain the design integrity of the platform through the application of management techniques across all technical disciplines and associated processes through the products life cycle from customer requirement capture, product definition, manufacture/procurement/build, test, qualification/certification to delivery. Is likely to be a key individual in major contract or area of activity. May have a supervisory role of a small team of professionally qualified individuals. Professional, financial and business judgement required in role.

Additional Information
Support the T26 Product Security Manager and lead on physical security design activities and implementation of physical security policy as necessary to achieve Physical Security accreditation of T26.

Responsibilities
Define and manage physical security characteristics of the T26.
Ensure that the appropriate security policies and processes are addressed by the T26 platform and equipment and by the engineering design process.
Develop definition of physical security requirements for all compartments.
Define physical security characteristics of T26 compartments.
Define security equipment and furniture required in T26 compartments.
Develop design rules for T26 compartments.
Assess compliance of the ship/compartment/equipment design with security requirements, architecture and policies, and propose risk mitigations.
Monitor implementation of physical security features during ship construction, assess compliance with requirements, and manage non-compliance's.
Assist in development of security risk assessment.
Main POC arranging visits of third party suppliers to shipyards and/or T26 programme offices when necessary to achieve physical security requirements.
Updating physical security documentation.

The Individual
Knowledge of relevant standards, including relevant parts of JSP440 and its application to design and construction of new ships as described in physical security Defence Standards.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Able to write readable technical documentation 'right first time'.
Ability to exploit capabilities already available within the business and other domains.
