This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Database Administrator to join a large organisation and apply their extensive SQL Server DBA skills.

As a Senior Database Administrator you will provide technical database solutions and services to clients, ensuring that the IT systems are operating at their maximum efficiency. You will be responsible for the provision of Database Management Systems and database design and support for projects of varying sizes and complexities, as well as ongoing management of activities across the whole application life cycle.

You will require experience in:

  • Expert level SQL Server 2012, including Database Integrated Services (SSIS) and Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Disaster Recovery environments, including Always On technology and Database Storage Replication.
  • Supporting databases, debugging and troubleshooting problems while providing effective progress communications and fault escalation procedures.
  • ITIL or similar processes for supporting database incidents, service requests, problems and change control.
  • Database Design and Peer Review activities.
  • The operation of at least two major DBMSs.
  • Directing, coaching and mentoring junior technical staff.
  • Prioritising tasks, work to deadlines, and managing multiple deliverables, demonstrating evidence of being a self-starter.

Mandatory criteria:

  • SQL Server 2012
  • DR and AlwaysOn experience in a SQL 2012 Environment
  • Migration Experience - Migration from previous SQL environments to a SQL 2012 environment
  • SSIS and SSRS in a SQL 2012 Environment
  • High Availability Clustering experience
