We are currently seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA
Position Responsibilities/ Duties:
We require strong, self motivated and experienced DBA’s to assist in the creating and administration of SQL server 2008R2 databases in Clustered and VM enviornment. Candidates should have a strong background in database administration and be able to demonstrate an interest in a variety of database technologies and desire to grow and develop their career.
Duties and responsibilities:
- SQL server database administration and configuration
- Performance monitoring tuning
- RMAN backup and recovery
- Database sizing and space management
- PL/ SQL tuning
Experience and Knowledge requirements:
- Understanding of SQL server concepts, theories, principles and best practice with 3 or more years in a similar enviornment
- Srong experience with installing, upgrading and supposting SQL server databases on Windows Physical and Virtual platforms
- Hands on experience implementing and supporting Windows Clusters
- Strong TSQL knowledge and experience troubleshooting and tuning code
- Knowledge of application database privacy practices and laws
- Experience working in a team orientated, collaborative enviornment
- Good interpersonal skills and good written and oral communication skills
- Keen attention to detail and proven analytical and problem solving abilities
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure enviornment
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to work on call hours
