Project Summary:

Manages various project developments from beginning to end. The Project Manager may be assigned to a full scale ERP rollout or to multiple smaller IT projects to be completed at the same time.

Responsibilities:

  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with IT and Business management and stakeholders. Implement best practices and tools for project execution and management.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated documents.
  • Directly manage internal and external team members in project. Indirectly manage additional project team members as required. Manages virtual project teams as required.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Where required, negotiate with other department Managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
  • Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitment recommendations if necessary during the project cycle.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables. Track progress of team members and complete performance reviews.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in IT, Business or a related field or equivalent experience.
    MBA preferred.
    PMP preferred
  • 7 years of IT project management experience with four years in large technology engagements
  • Must have participated in one or more M&A projects that included IT Infrastructure, data center migration, IT Cost Reduction, application rationalization, or project portfolio management.
  • 7 years of experience in two or more technology disciplines (ERP, IT strategy, IT acquisition, application portfolio management/rationalization, project portfolio management or IT governance)
  • 3+ years in IT leadership or IT management roles
  • Ability to articulate leading business issues and trends, including the associated technology implications within one or more industries
  • A willingness to travel (Monday - Friday)
  • Business development experience and high comfort level meeting with and presenting to CxO and VP levels
  • Demonstrated experience in business process improvement, leveraging information and technology
  • Clear understanding and experience with IT economics
  • Experience managing large, complex projects with 12+ resources within a consulting environment, with a vendor or within an enterprise IT team in Matrix, virtual environments
