Our client is seeking an Instructional Designer.

This resource will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing learning solutions based on the training needs of the business. Works with internal users on needs analysis to determine the appropriate content, audience, and delivery method for training.  Works with research gathered from internal and external sources to develop course content and supporting materials. Designs instructionally sound training materials according to adult learning principles in order to meet the learning needs of the end user. Manages the review and approval process, as well as the pilot and train-the-trainer process for each program developed.

Core skills include team and relational skills, understanding of project management, training program development, leadership and communication skills, curriculum design, superior facilitation/presentation skills, adult learning principles, instructional design (ie, classroom, virtual training, E-learning, support materials), learning assessments and evaluation. MUST BE DETAIL ORIENTED!

Essential duties and responsibilities, shown below, will vary accordingly based on assignment.

  • Designs, develops and implements blended training solutions to meet defined needs.
  • Delivers assignments within project milestones and overall timelines.
  • Reports activities, status, risks, and issues to project leadership per routine status reports.
  • Estimates project scope, timelines, resource requirements and constraints/risk for each project.
  • Prepares internal trainers for classroom and/or virtual instruction; ensures consistent delivery of content and clear communication of subject matter.
  • Facilitates various training programs at a superior level based on client's needs.
  • Develops and conducts evaluation of training to ensure effectiveness; recommends inventive methods for sustained learning and continuous improvement of training design, development and delivery.
  • Creates or modifies pre and post assessments.
  • Determines and creates metrics and other ROI measurements for each program.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, business information systems, business administration or equivalent course of study
  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in developing and delivering training programs
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with designing various forms of learning: classroom, E-learning, mobile or virtual training.
  • Proficient with a variety of course authoring tools including but not limited to: Microsoft Office applications, Articulate, Captivate, Storyline, RoboDemo.

Successful candidates will additionally possess the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design, adult learning theories and training strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, set direction for initiatives and manage to timelines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills; proven abilities to interact with all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and perform effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience in large Enterprise organizations and taking complicated technical language and making it understandable to multiple levels of end users.
