A Composite Stress Engineer is required to provide dedicated FE support to the composite design team involved in the design, development and qualification of complex composite aerostructures. Working under the direction of the Mechanical Design Team Leader the responsibilities of this role will encompass a broad range of analysis and reporting activities including the management of any sub-contracted analysis activity.

Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:
- Stress analysis of composite components using FEA software
- Interpretation of design requirements and creation of qualification test plans to support design output
- Selection, oversight and management of external sub-contractors where required to support analysis activity
- Technical liaison/presentations with customer to support Design Review deliverables

Experience/Qualifications:
Design engineering background in the aerospace/automotive or related industries and will have been involved in the stress analysis of composite components.

Essential:
* Education to HND/Degree level in mechanical or aersopace engineering
* Thorough understanding of the software and processes for the analysis of complex composite components (methodologies, design/FE tools, verification/validation)
* Demonstrable competence in the analysis of fibre reinforced composite materials
* Good communication and teamworking skills

Preferred:
* Experience in the stress analysis of composite components using FEA software presently used by the Company (Nastran, NX I-DEAS or ANSYS)
* Knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing techniques for fibre reinforced plastic and thermoplastic materials
* Design/Draughting capability
* Knowledge and experience of CFD analysis
