Description
Design large structural components. Typical tasks include creating design concepts; collaborating with other design engineers, suppliers, and manufacturing planners; creating detailed designs; creating engineering drawings; analysis and testing; and verifying successful implementation in the factory. Successful designs must meet schedule, cost, and quality goals. Will use Pro/E and other design tools, as well as manage design work performed globally.

Required skills:
- Applicants must have a BS in Mechanical Engineering or a BS in another area of engineering and recent experience designing mechanical systems or components. Applicants may have a BS in Engineering Technology as an alternative to an engineering degree.
- Applicants must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and must be able to show achievements working with teams, and show personal examples of dedication to goals.
- It is desirable for applicants to have recent engineering experience using 3D modelling software to design large structures and manage large assemblies.
- Particularly valuable is experience with Pro/E.
- Also desirable is knowledge of surface modelling, welding, and non-metallics, and two or more years of recent experience designing for heavy duty mobile equipment, including hands-on experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated leadership in their school or work history.
