Overview of Responsibilities

Work directly with the Director, Interactive Technology as part of the Communications Team to manage a) website content creation and maintenance and b) bulk email creation and publication and subscription management processes.This is an "internal-client" oriented role. Routine and non-routine requests (for blog posts, web pages, high profile bulk email and more) are submitted by Communications team members as well as other CCSA teams. You will be responsible for working with these internal clients to evaluate their content requests, provide constructive feedback and then produce the content to meet best practices. Excellent communication skills and a customer service attitude are critical. CCSA is a fast-moving, advocacy focused organization, and the Web/Email Producer must be detail-oriented, self-directed, have the ability to multi-task, and maintain a healthy respect for standards, quality and process.Duties:

  • Create and maintain web content (submitted by various internal customers) across CCSA's websites using CCSA's content management system, with occasional hand coding of simple HTML/CSS.
  • Produce and publish weekly and monthly HTML e-newsletters in coordination with other team members and content submitters
  • Produce and publish one-off routine and urgent bulk emails
  • Create and manage various targeted email lists within our email system and Salesforce database
  • Work on multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with frequently changing priorities
  • Interact with external developer team as needed for website support issues.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in digital media, marketing, communications, journalism, design or related field
  • Experience: 3+ years relevant web production and design experience
  • Very comfortable with Movable Type, or other CMS (content management systems) such as WordPress, Nation builder or Drupal.
  • Able to hand-code html, and have some familiarity with CSS. While we use a CMS, hand-coding is often required, particularly for bulk emails.
  • Basic web troubleshooting skills (e.g., diagnose why formatting or layout aren't as expected)
  • Familiarity with bulk email systems (such as Constant Contact, MailChimp, Vertical Response, etc). Experience with Marketo and or Nation Builder is a plus.
  • Familiarity with social media tools (Facebook, Twitter)
  • Basic familiarity with Adobe Acrobat.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including strong editing, grammar, and proof reading skills

Preferred Qualifications/Knowledge of:
  • Knowledge of email-specific HTML
  • Basic Photoshop/graphic editing skills (familiarity with layering and graphic optimization)
  • Google Analytics
  • Salesforce
