UX Designer
6 month contract
The UX specialist will design, develop and champion creative and compelling user interfaces for both web and mobile applications that enhance solution adoption by making it simple to use. This role will work closely with the IT engineering team to rapidly investigate and analyse requirements, analyse and diagram user profiles and workflows, develop a UI paradigm, and offer highly usable interface solutions.
The successful candidate will have a passion for user centric design, process improvement and will be a strong communicator. You will have the ability to identify alternative design strategies, assess design viability and rapidly transform business requirements into a user interface design.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead development of rich functional prototypes using white board brainstorming, low and high fidelity mockups and interaction requirements while working with multiple clients
* Rapidly prototype web portal/mobile app and application solution design, look, feel and aesthetics
* Collaborate with Software Engineers and Architects on Front End integration strategies
* Work with implementation teams across multiple engagements to design efficient and comprehensible user interfaces given client requirements
* Provide feedback and make recommendations regarding the web or application development solution and the relation to the user interface
* Perform user interface usability studies as required
* Create UI mockups, UI flow diagrams, final UI designs and write HTML as required
* Documentation of all UIs developed
Required Skills and Experience
* Creativity
* A passion for process improvement
* 10-15 years' experience covering the following:
- Solid experience of user experience, interface design and software development process
- Knowledge of User Interface Design, User Centered Design & Usability
- Proven and demonstrable experience developing compelling user experiences
- Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS. Additional knowledge of JavaScript, DOM, Ajax Techniques, Web 2.0 Strategies desired.
- Proficiency using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite 2/3 (Specifically Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks and Flash)
- Passion for technology and compelling user experiences
Additional Experience Required
* Solid experience with User Interface workflow modelling
* Solid experience with Web Design, Mobile UI design and related technologies
* Ability to work well independently or within a team, especially cross-functional teams
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to determine unique and creative solutions to problems within a rapid development environment
