Software Equipment Engineer opportunity with a market leading semiconductor organisation on a long term contract basis. Software Equipment Engineers will join an established software support team providing technical support to local service organisation in the field of software, software architecture, user interface, UNIX, Fab automation, application software, as well as testing and initialising solutions for any found structural problem.

The Equipment Engineer is responsible for driving the service requirements into the early design phases of the products covering reliability, availability & serviceability.

Responsibilities:
* Represent the customer support sector in the co-design phase and make sure the service requirements are implemented in the design.
* Take care of new product introduction towards field organisation.
* Take care of structural improvements and feedback on structural improvements towards development team.
* Review technical documentation of the multidisciplinary development team.
* Define documentation, spare parts and tooling for the global service organisation.
* Be the expert in analysis of complex problems on-site.
* Knowledge transfer from development to local service organisations
* Analyse global product performance and define requirements for co-design improvement.

Education
* Bachelor or Masters Degree in Information Technology (focus on technical software)

Experience
• Experience in a high-tech environment.
• Experience in servicing / developing embedded machine software.

Specific knowledge:
* Basic UNIX/LINUX knowledge.
* Basic programming skills (C, shell scripting)
* Knowledge on network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP,…)
* Basic knowledge on webservices, xml

Personal skills
* Proven excellent social and communication skills in English.
* Team player, but also independent.
* Practical + Analytical person.
* Plenty of initiative and abstract thinking.
* The ambition to learn Dutch is an advantage.
* Willingness for foreign travel.
