Outsource UK Ltd is actively seeking to recruit a Vetronics Engineer for a contract role on behalf of a client.

A leading Engineering and Defence organisation
Key Responsibility Areas
The successful Vetronics Engineer candidate will be responsible for the following:
Be responsible for the creation and definition of technical solutions, including:
Vetronics design and integration at the system and sub-system level
Production of specifications and designs which fulfil contractual requirements and contribute to cost-effective solutions
Requirements management and production of technical specifications
Management of all technical issues with customers and suppliers
System design and integration into vehicle platforms
Acceptance and verification testing of systems
Consideration of safety, risk, reliability and maintainability associated with the technical solution, in conjunction with subject matter experts.
General Engineering Responsibilities:
Support the Vetronics Lead representing Combat Vehicles (UK) as Design Authority for Armoured Fighting Vehicles
Generation of project documentation
Perform tasking as allocated by the Vetronics Team Lead
Provide engineering input to customer submissions including cost estimating and programme plans,
Produce technical reports, meeting minutes and visit reports
Lead and/or attend design reviews and manage actions
To deputise where appropriate for the Vetronics Team Lead during short term absence and holidays
Vetronics includes areas such as:
Power generation, storage and distribution
Harnessing
Control panels
Automotive control systems
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge
Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent
Significant drive and energy, strong engineering skills, and the ability to deliver a diverse programme to demanding time, target cost and quality requirements are essential attributes to succeed.
Thorough understanding of Armoured Fighting Vehicle Weapon Systems and their development including: Knowledge and application of appropriate Defence Standards for military vehicles, Requirements management, Specification and design of complex electro-mechanical systems and sub-systems and Vetronics design and validation.
Competent in the use of SAP
Competent in the use of Teamcenter
Competent in the use of Microsoft based products
