Social Media Manager required for a busy communications and marketing Team within an inhouse marketing dept. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and holding key relationships with colleagues from service manager to director level across the organisation. This position is for an initial 3 month period.

Working in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, this role requires someone who is highly competent in both social marketing theory and delivery, is confident in making high-level decisions under pressure and working to deadlines.

The position will manage numerous behaviour-change marketing and communications projects for health services including stop smoking, healthy weight, sexual health and alcohol awareness. Also, leading channel campaigns to encourage customers to do more online and provide social marketing advice and support across relevant public services.

Leading from initial briefing through to post-campaign evaluation, you will also manage cross-disciplinary project teams across design, marketing, digital and media to deliver communications projects.

This pivotal role requires someone with a high degree of accuracy and who is confident with independent decision-making, using discretion and initiative. Requiring highly developed influencing and negotiation skills.

Skills required:

  • Demonstrable track record of delivering effective social marketing communications projects
  • Experience of client/account relationship management
  • Experience of using research and evidence to underpin communications activities
  • Experience of leading project teams across the different disciplines of marketing, digital, design and media to deliver successful multi-channel communications projects
  • Ability to develop long and short term strategies which align to the wider service plan and demonstrable experience of setting clear boundaries for responsibility to ensure individual development is linked to this
  • Able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the service and the wider organizational context and how this interfaces with members and possess the skills required to take a lead role in ensuring partnerships work
  • Demonstrable ability to instigate change and able to develop service objectives from strategy, ensuring teams are motivated and employee development is linked to service needs
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, consultation and influencing skills tailored to meet the needs of a wide range of audiences and stakeholders.
