As a member of the Gas Engine Controls team, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing, validating and calibrating engine and aftertreatment control algorithms and related diagnostics on current and future natural gas/dual fuel engine products. Specific responsibilities include performing systems engineering, requirements development, control algorithm development, engine system physical dynamics modelling, stability analysis, simulation and performance analysis. This involves performing development and validation employing system tests on benches, engines and field sites that result in acceptable system performance vs. specification.

SKILLS:

This position requires a BS degree in an accredited Mechanical or Electrical Engineering curriculum plus 3 years experience, OR an MS or PhD degree in an accredited Mechanical or Electrical Engineering curriculum plus 1 year experience.

  • Must have experience with the Aftertreatment emissions system.
  • Required experience must be in electrohydraulic and/or electromechanical system modelling and/or control system development in a commercial or research setting.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with team members, customers, and suppliers.
  • Theoretical and/or industrial experience with design/development of natural gas, diesel or gasoline engine systems is highly desired. This includes engine emissions & performance algorithm development.
  • Must have a good understanding of internal combustion engines, experience with system hardware development, experience with dynamic modelling, and have proficiency with Matlab/Simulink development tools.
  • Individuals must have demonstrated technical ability and be able to think/act on problems outside of their area of expertise.
  • The individual must be able to work as part of a team, have a systems engineering focus, and be motivated to meet/exceed customer expectations.
