Senior Hardware Engineer
Job Description
My client is looking for an experienced Engineer to join the currently highly skilled function. The successful candidate will have a track record in the taking of products through integration and qualification through to delivery and support.
Skills, qualifications & knowledge
* Educated to degree level in engineering or related subject, or equivalent.
* Experience in Military Hardware products.
* Used to working in an environment where the need to deliver equipment on time and to the right quality are paramount
* Experience of writing and creating requirements, module Interface Documents and procurement specifications.
* Experience of Integration; Qualification; Production; or Support of Military products leading to DDP and delivery.
* Experience with a variety of test equipment as used in Qualification testing
* Experience of Subcontract Management
* Writing technical reports
* Decision making based on a sound engineering background in electronic product design
* Can demonstrate a successful track record in design innovation and problem solving.
* An understanding of RF would be useful
Key responsibility areas
* Work with subcontractors, managing technical interface
* Planning and delivery of work packages for own tasks and subcontractors
* Requirements management for part of a large system
* Experienced in the principles of design and capable of Integration and Qualification work
* Experienced in maintaining existing designs through production and support in the field.
* Soldering and making up of cables and wiring harnesses
* Manual handling of units around the lab
* Hardware Design Review assessor
