Storage Administrator - ZFS, Oracle SuperCluster, T5s, Solaris, SC Cleared - North Yorkshire
Square One are looking for a Sotrage Administrator to assist the Storage and System team to administer the customers estate ensuring that issues are resolved, changes implemented and potential issues prevented before they occur.
Essential Functions:
? Integrate with the customer's operations team, on site
? Administrate the ZFS storage applicances
? Provision Capacity to the customers estate
? Day-to-day operational management of the customers estate
? Assess and advise on service support on operational impact of change
? Fault finding and Patching
? Administrate Backups and Restores, including tests
? Administrate the Oracle Super Cluster Servers and T5s
? Create and Improve Processes and Procedures in the customers estate
? Provide cover for any existing members of the Storage and System Administration Team when they are off (sick, holiday, call-out etc.)
? Manage the interface with the remote AMR team
? Work with customers change manager to present changes through the CAB.
? Liaise with Oracle Premier Support on SR matters
? This is a key customer facing role.
? Working hours will be in shifts of 8 hrs covering from 8am until 8pm.
? The work will involve out of hours call-out for incident work and out of hours working for change implementation.
Required Skills and knowledge:
? Oracle ZFS appliance administration
? Presentation of Storage to Clusters.
? Understanding of ITIL
? Experience of working with Service Management tools [HP Service Desk]
? Structured approach to process and procedures
? Basic knowledge of Oracle's Service offering [Hardware, Software etc.)
? Network administration basics
? UK Security Clearance
Preferred Knowledge:
? ITIL Foundation Certificate.
? Understanding of Analytical troubleshooting [Kepner Traego]
? Infiniband Networking
? Oracle Solaris System Administration, including zones and ldoms
? iSCSI boot
? IP Networking
? Basic knowledge around Oracle Database Administration
? Solaris Cluster
? ASM
This is a 12 month project based in North Yorkshire looking to start on 23rd June 2014 with rates being negotiable. It is compulsary that all engineers on site hold current SC clearance so anyone with this will be highly desirable.
