We have a requirement for an experienced ICT Application Delivery Specialist for a customer based in the Dublin area. We require an experience in a multi-disciplinary shared services environment. You shall support and advise on the design and delivery of applications within the new shared services operations. This new shared services function supports HR, Pensions, Payroll and Financial Shared Services.

Experience of Enterprise Architecture design, development of strategies and policies governing application delivery and proven responsibility for managing applications delivery in a complex environment is essential.

Some Responsibilities within the role:

  • Bestow vision and strategic guidance for developing and continually enhancing shared service application delivery

  • Recommend, using knowledge of the latest shared service technologies and solutions,  that will enhance the business services

  • Formulate the overall applications architecture required to support the longer-term business requirements of shared services for consideration by management

  • Work with stakeholders to identify technology impacts of proposals/strategies relating to shared services and provide an assessment of alternative options

  • Combine a breakdown of business methods and an understanding of technology capabilities to advise on effective application solutions

  • Develop in combination with business owners costed tactical application proposals for consideration by internal ICT expertise and management;

  • Work with solutions architect(s) to safeguard that solutions are scalable and resilient;

  • Progress and advise on policies, standards and guidelines on the deployment of IT solutions and systems in a shared service environment

Expertise Required:  

  • A degree in business administration, information systems, computer science or related subject required (Advanced degree desirable) (required)

  • Professional qualifications and industry certifications advantageous

  • A minimum of ten years' experience required, including at least five years at a senior level (required)

  • Experience of at least three years providing applications expertise in a multi-disciplinary shared services environment (required)

  • Experience of at least three years advising senior management on relevant technical requirements (required)

  • Knowledge and familiarity with the latest shared service technologies and solutions (required)

  • A knowledge of
    (i) public sector and
    (ii) shared service business environments

  • An ability to analyse differing demands and credibly present written and oral options for appraisal and approval including financial modelling in relation to ICT applications proposals

  • A broad knowledge of different system and technology architectures

  • Project and program management planning and organizational skills

  • An ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure

  • An ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products as required

  • Extensive experience managing competing stakeholder demands;

  • Excellent English language verbal, written and communication skills;

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical issues effectively to both technical and non-technical staff across all levels; and

  • Excellent documentation skills
