Description
Our client is and industrial company located in Brussels and is currently looking for a Senior Network Engineer to bring network and security expertise and support to their networking team. The Senior Network Engineer will be based in Brussels until the end of this year.
The main responsibilities are:
- Support of the corporate Datacenter at the networking level.
- Enhance existing network infrastructure and operational activities at the corporate datacenter
- Monitor and Wide Area Network (WAN) and Internet connectivity world-wide with the uptime target of 99.9%.
- Maintain a secure computing environment by assuring that all security measures are taken into account in regards to the company WAN and Firewall infrastructure.
- Prepare technical documentation and diagrams, clearly document all process and procedural changes that may take place.
- Prepare documentation for lower tiers (Helpdesk and Site IT support).
- Provide technical support and knowledge to project teams that will be utilizing networking technologies
- Provide knowledge in networking and Internet technologies.
- Identify security risks and put plan in place to mitigate risk.
- Ensure the security of Internet facing systems/applications.
- Provide support for Firewall, proxies, system security, and public facing systems.
- Provide oral and written presentations to project teams.
- Understand of NAT, DMZ, and Extranet setup and management
- Based in Brussels, Belgium
- Up to 5% of persons time would be travelling.
- Flexible working hours (ie availability off hours is required)
Requirements:
- At least5 years of experience in network configuration and troubleshooting of switching and routing technology for a multi-national enterprise. Cisco specific experience is required
- Experience in an Enterprise production data center, assisting in supporting a 24X7 hour operation.
- Hands on support experience with networks, Routers and Firewalls.
- Hands on experience with Cisco ASA or PaoloAlto Firewall is required.
- Hands on experience with Cisco 8xx, 19xx, 29xx, 39xx series Routers is required.
- Skilled in full packet capture
- Experience with implementing of virtual private network (VPN) technologies. This includes both LAN-LAN secure tunnels and remote client access,
- Experience with deploying Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies, practical experience working with global service providers, working with MPLS technologies and network Quality of Service (QoS) for voice and video services and WAN optimization,
- Working knowledge of Main Data Facility (MDF) and Intermediate Data Facility (IDF) design and construction,
- Strong written and oral communication skills,
- Strong problem solving skills, demonstrated diligence, excellent references from more than one source,Self-starter with pro-active attitude,
- Good level of English
- Implementation experience with wireless networks and protocols, including experience w/Cisco wireless controllers and global networks is a plus
- Cisco WAAS platform experience is a plus,
- Cisco ACS experience is a plus.
