The Company
My client is a leading International Investment Bank with an established presence in the US, Europe and Asia and due to growth in the region there is to be a large investment in technology for 2014. They have a large range of financial offerings to both public and private clients predominantly across corporate and institutional banking areas. They currently require a junior to mid-level (2 years min Front Office experience) Trade Floor Support Engineer with Microsoft (Windows) product knowledge to join them on a contract basis initially with a view to become permanent.
The Team
You'll be a part of a group responsible for supporting the banks sales and trading teams across all products and asset classes ensuring all systems are highly available and optimized but also work closely with the regional APAC network team to ensure consistency across the greater Asia-Pacific region. It's a fast paced Front Office environment which requires excellent troubleshooting, prioritization and time management skills.
The Role
As a Front Office Trade Floor Support Engineer you'll be responsible for supporting and improving the desktop infrastructure and applications for the bank. From a technical perspective the environment is predominantly Microsoft covering technologies such as: Windows XP/7, Office as well as Blackberry's and other peripheral devices such as printers and scanners. These technologies are used in unison with mission critical financial markets related applications such as Front Office Trading systems (OMS) so there's a strong emphasis on high availability and performance.
Requirements of the role:
- You "Must" have at least 2 years Front Office Trade Floor Support experience.
- Experience with Market Data systems: Reuters, Bloomberg.
- Excellent troubleshooting/problem solving skills, a passionate for technology.
- Experience with MS stack: Windows XP/7, Office Suite.
- Experience with Blackberry, Printing/Scanning devices.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and business facing skills.
- The right attitude - willing to learn and do anything to succeed.
- Full working rights for Australia.
