My client is currently seeking an Operational Risk Consultant to take up a fixed term contract position for 12 Months in based in Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading bank that is going through a period of rapid growth.
As an Operational Risk Consultant you will provide key support in all stages of a major change programme, responsible for ensuring the go to policies and procedures are fit for purpose and 1st line of defence business units have the correct level of key controls, governance and assurance in place.
Key Accountabilities
- As an SME provides education and guidance on Operational Risk matters.
- Identifies areas for continuous improvement of processes and frameworks with the tenacity to follow them through
- Analyses and evaluates a range of information to produce insightful analysis, recommendations and advice to influence decisions and inspire change
- Excellent stakeholder management are required to builds and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
- Responsibility for development and assurance of Operational Risk requirements and business readiness including Policy, standards and process control framework.
Experience required
- Deep knowledge and experience of Operational Risk gained over a 3-5 year period
- Experience of a Retail Banking environment preferred
- Excellent influencing skills are essential to gain buy in from key stakeholders
- A thorough, structured approach is essential along with attention to detail
- Must have strong stakeholder management skills to build effective Bank wide relationships
- Confidence and credibility to challenge and not accept things at face value
