Software Engineer/6 months/Brussels, Belgium
For one of my clients I'm urgently looking for a Software Engineer for an initial of 6 months contract to be based in Brussels, Belgium.
In this role as a Software Engineer your responsibilities will be to:
- Design, develop, and configure software systems to meet market and/or client requirements either end-to-end from analysis, design, implementation, quality assurance (including testing), to delivery and maintenance of the software product or system or for a specific phase of the life cycle.
- Apply knowledge of technologies, applications, methodologies, processes and tools to support a client, project or entity.
- Apply existing standards for programming, naming, security & performance and provide proper code documentation
- Create, execute and document tests necessary to ensure that an application or technical environment meets performance requirements
- Maintain and repair applications to keep them performing in accordance with technical and functional specifications
- Participate to the training and coaching of junior Mainframe resources
- Implement and or supervise actions required to deploy the application both technically and functionally
Required skills
- Several years of experience in: Design, code and test software/Implement changes to custom build to meet business process requirements/Document and assist in defining the functional and technical requirements of the application
- Ability to engage in conversation with clients to represent our assets and capabilities
- Strong experience in a Mainframe environment with proven methodological expertise (Waterfall/Agile)
- Experience in design, programming and Mainframe development (Cobol, CICS/DB2, PL/1, TSO, MVS, JCL)
- Ability to coach junior resources or supervise small team when required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Language: English, Dutch and French
