The job:
My Client is looking for an IT Candidate with strong 2nd Level Support experience but now wants to move in to the Software Develoment space. Experience in Software Development required. The role is 60% Support & 40% Development.
You will write scripts, find bugs and resolve them, install & develop new applications across the business, set up web Servers, ad-hoc coding tasks and work as a technical consultant to support the internal systems of the client company.
Skills required:
- 2+ years' experience in 2nd line support or technical support. You might have moved from 1st level to 2nd level support and then move in to some development responsibilities.
- IT based degree or relevant experience
- Any development experience in one of the following:
- Java
- Python
- C++
- Ruby
- Perl
- Any other programming language
- Customer facing skills
This role would ideally suit a person who wished to move from support to development in the next 1-3 years as there is progresssion in to the development team.
