Description
Stable company has an immediate need for a VMware/Server Infrastructure Specialist on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will provide essential third line VMware/Server operational support as well as working closely on projects to plan, document and deliver the infrastructure components. The network team is currently at four people in Atlanta, and you will work as a subject matter expert related to VMWare.
You will work out of the Atlanta Regional Office with about 60 other employees in one of Atlanta's premier office locations. This is a growing company of about 250 in all and has a strong international presence. This company likes team players who are proactive and smart.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and provide 3rd Line Support for company's VMware/Windows Server infrastructure components.
- Manage IT infrastructure to minimize business disruption.
- Identify and drive initiatives to improve the quality and effectiveness of the
infrastructure services. - Own/manage process and procedures relating to VMware/Windows Server services.
- Manage and deliver new infrastructure projects.
- Ensure assigned IT service incidents are managed effectively and allow for root-cause problem analysis when applicable.
- Create high quality technical or process documentation as required.
Requirements:
- VCP 5 and Bachelor's Degree.
- VMware version 5.0 (ideally want to see progressive experience through versions 3, 4, and 5). vSphere 5.x products and services.
(vCenter, ESXi, SRM etc). - Windows 2003 (and newer is a plus) -including installation, configuration, troubleshooting and performance tuning.
- HP hardware and Blade Centers.
- Strong experience with VMware ITIL framework.
- Knowledge of Windows 2003-- Experience in large scale environments across multiple geographically dispersed sites.
- Understanding of storage (including boot from SAN) and network infrastructure.
- DR strategies.
