A top tier trading firm in Chicago is seeking a talented Python Developer to contribute significantly to the new product development of a trading system that will be replacing their legacy application.This is a smaller, highly collaborative, Agile team of intelligent developers who enjoy a challenge. The sharp Software Engineer who joins the team must be eager to learn new, cutting edge technologies and take ownership of their projects. Python expertise is a plus, but we are open to excellent developers in any object oriented language (must be excited to code 100% in Pyton)
Skills desired include:
- Expertise in either Python, C++, C#, or Java (Python highly preferred)
- Agile Development experience
- Database experience (SQL, Sybase, Netezza, etc)
- ActiveMQ, SonicMQ,
- Financial Industry Experience is preferred (An interest in the financial industry is a must)
- Linux/Unix, Windows
- Desire to expand skillset and learn new technologies
- Collaborative attitude and team player looking to be a key contributor to the development of a new trading system
