Description
Summary -- Performs a variety of engineering work in planning and design of products, tools, engines, machines and other mechanically functioning equipment and mechanical industrial processes.
- Oversees production, installation, operations, maintenance and repair of such equipment.
- Works with other engineering disciplines in the development and application.
Key Features -
The Design Engineer is responsible for designing assembly and test equipment for the production of medical products. The Design Engineer is expected to have the appropriate background and experience in both Computer Aided Design and the discipline area in which responsible. It is expected that the Design Engineer is capable of carrying out the design task with minimal supervision.
Skills & Education -
- Skilled in fixture and tooling design.
- Skilled in the design of automated/semi-automated machinery.
- Skilled in Computer Aided Design (Pro-Engineer experience required).
- Knowledge of drafting standards. Knowledge of standard technical procedures.
- Skill in technical measurement using standard laboratory tools, such as, micrometer, calipers, etc.
- Understanding of basic theory of scientific or technical discipline.
- Basic computer skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Training in drafting/design.
- Two (2) year technical degree or equivalent college credit desired.
- Four (4) year engineering degree desired.
- At least 5 years of design experience.
- At least 5 years of Computer Aided Design experience.
- Automation / machine design experience required.
