Description
A top team within a Global Asset Manager is actively seeking a Senior Java Developer with strong database skills, SQL and PL/SQL. As a part of the Investment Administration team, this person will be responsible for Prime Brokerage Service Operations, Transfer Agent and Fund Accounting Applications. Financial Services experience is not required, making this an excellent opportunity to either learn in a new environment, or hone your existing skills.In this role, the firm is looking for a Senior Java Engineer with the potential to grow into a Team Lead and management responsibilities. In this role, the person will:
- Work with Fund Administration business team, project managers, and systems analysts to review business requirements, functional specifications, use-cases, and test plans to ensure that complex business problems are met with simple technical solutions.
- Participate in architecture, design, development, and implementation of new software components and applications based on functional specifications.
- Work with other software engineers to design and implement application features.
- Author technical design and support documentation.
- Mentor Junior Developers.
This is a Senior level role, and in order to be successful in this position the ideal candidate will have:
- 7+ years demonstrated experience developing web applications and services using SPRING, JDBC, JMS, JSP, and Javascript.
- 7+ years of demonstrated database development and architecture experience using SQL, Oracle and PL/SQL.
- Experience with PERL, JSON, XML, UNIX/Linux, and AngularJS will be a plus.
- Ability to solve problems in a logical, methodical, and time efficient manner.
- Experience in data management will also be a plus.
- Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills will allow the candidate to successfully work with business teams.
