Sr. Firmware Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:
Looking for a talented Senior Firmware Engineer to develop embedded microcontroller code, firmware and high-level code for LCD video controller chips and embedded Linux. Must have industry experience in C/C++ programming and be capable of developing algorithms and test cases in accordance with specifications and product architecture.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Develop Firmware, Algorithms, and Applications/Utilities for the NDS Surgical and Patient Monitoring line of products

Bring-up code/systems in lab

Write engineering documentation such as specifications, test-procedures, product release notes, etc

Maintain source code and release files for production

Support the field application engineering organizations in troubleshooting and reproducing customer issues

Continually contribute to the efficiency of the engineering organization through suggestions and implementation of work approaches and methods to drive process improvement

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering

5+ years of full time C/C++ firmware development experience

Strong knowledge of video standards/specs (NTSC, PAL, SDI, LVDS, TMDS)

Efficient code-management skills in C/C++ and Assembly

Linux development of applications, drivers and kernel modifications

I2C, RS-232, TCP/IP, HTTP

Working knowledge of source control management systems

Bring-up experience in lab environment

Engineering level documentation experience

Ideal candidate will have experience with LCD Display development

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Strong knowledge of video standards/specs (NTSC, PAL, SDI, LVDS, TMDS)

Efficient code-management skills in C/C++ and Assembly

Working knowledge of source control management systems

Knowledge of Graphic User Interfaces (GUI) design and implementation is desired
