Description
We are looking to add a Drilling Engineer to our staff in Austin, Texas. The job duties and responsibilities will be as follows:- Manage up to four drilling rigs with monthly trips to the field
- Troubleshoot daily drilling issues
- Supervise rig consultants and work with drilling superintendents and other engineers to remedy problems
- Select and manage vendors focusing on safety, performance, and cost
- Evaluate and implement new drilling practices and technologies to improve rig performance and safety
- Review and approve expenditures for rig activities and make recommendations to reduce costs and enhance efficiencies
- QAQC daily morning reports
- Maintain an active presence in industry associations such as SPE, AADE, etc.
Experience and Skills:
- BS in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum five years of drilling engineering or related experience; operator experience is preferred
- A strong understanding of drilling rigs and horizontal drilling best practices is a must
- Horizontal experience within the Mid Continent is a strong plus
