Description
A leading Medical Device Company based in Minneapolis, has a great opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer on a 12 month contract.The Mechanical Engineer will focus on the design and development of their next generation products, as well as improvements to their legacy products. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be working with long term impantable devices.
Responsibilities include:
- Design and analyze mechanical parts
- Examining load conditions
- Tolerance simulations for components
- Statistical analysis
- Manage complex product assemblies in Solidworks
- Source and collaborate with engineering consultants, industrial designers, contract manufacturers and parts vendors.
- Take products through engineering analysis and design validation testing phases using skills of both the internal team and outside resources such as test labs and consultants.
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following qualifications:
- BS or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
- Good CAD skills, preferably in Solidworks
- Experience with design and requirements of medical devices are a plus.
- Knowledge of statistical tolerance analysis
