The Role Itself
The architect is responsible for the overall technical design of the solution and for making all technical decisions within the project. This is a highly technical role with a strong client facing focus. You will play a key role in the future developments of the business, using your expertise and industry knowledge to stay ahead of market trends. Skills desired
- Knowledge in WCS solutions with proven hands on experience of Websphere commerce architecture and development.
- Good experience in designing and implementing e-Commerce applications built on IBM WebSphere Commerce v7.0
- Knowledge in MVC framework, WC Command framework and key architectural patterns
- Experienced in working with various Java/J2EE standard Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) like Rational Software Architect and RAD
- Familiarity with mobile storefront development using Websphere Commerce
- Experienced in J2EE Design Patterns including Data Access Object, Session Façade, Business Delegate, and Command Patterns
- Advanced programming skills in Java/J2EE technologies like JDBC, Servlets, EJB, Java Webservices, JSP, taglibs, Javascript, CSS, Struts
- Good communication skills - both written and verbal
- Proven integration of eCommerce Solutions with downstream back office systems and communications protocols (REST, WSDLs, Gateways, APIs, etc.)
