My Client is based in Dublin and they are seeking a DevOps Engineer / Linux Systems Administrator will be proactively seeking out problems and will be actively involved in proposing solutions for the company. You will join a team who are constantly pushing the boundaries and experimenting with new tools and ways of doing things. You will join a excellent Linux System administration team of 4 and you will be the first to have a dual role as DevOps engineer.
As you will be looking to improve the functionality of the production environment you will be responsible for recommending cutting edge technologies/solutions to the organisation. You will maintain and enhance computer systems, encouraging automation in relation to Development, Testing, Production and Support. You will be the link between these departments and ensure fluid communication and understanding.
Requirements:
- You must have solid knowledge of most Opensource tools and technologies (some listed below), some development languages and exposure to automated testing.
- You must have worked in a DevOps role or in and agile environment before and / or you must be actively interested in DevOps and agile development requirements.
Skills:
- Redhat/CentOS and Debian/Ubuntu experience.
- DNS (BIND), DHCPD, SNMP, SMTP, POP, IMAP and NFS.
- Managing Java (JEE) based applications within a Unix environment (Tomcat, Jetty, Glassfish).
- High Availability Clustering (HAC - % goals).
- Webservers (Apache 2, Nginx).
- BASH, Perl and other current Unix System Administration tools.
- MySQL and/or PostGreSQL
- Load-balancing setup, Proxy configuration and backup solutions (DRBD replication).
- Nagios, Cacti, RRDTool, Syslog-NG, Zabbix.
- Cloud (Amazon AWS).
