There will be a requirement to take part in a support rota which covers on-site support from 07:00 - 19:00 on weekdays as well as overnight and weekend on-call rota duties.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to move to an investment banking role without prior industry experience. These skills will be used primarily to support an in-house developed application called EVF-P which is used by front office traders to manage trading workflow, view trades, positions, contracts, risk data. The application is also responsible for reporting to international regulatory authorities.

Once the applicant is fully familiar with the EVF-P application they will need to acquire support knowledge for in house front office applications starting with Diva (a pricing and risk calculation tool) and Avid (used for risk/pricing workflow for rates, credit, fx and commodities businesses).

The applicant will need strong and demonstrableproblem solving and root cause analysis skills. Any knowledge of Nagios and Unix will be useful but not mandatory.

The bank uses the ITIL framework for IT service management via HP Service Centre. Familiarity with ITIL will be useful as it is used to manage changes, incidents and problems within the team. Use of specific problem solving / root cause analysis methodologies would be welcome.

Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and BCP will be required. Any experience with IT audit requirements and segregation of duties will also help the applicant to settle into their role quickly.

Key requirements of role:
  • Extensive experience in application support or development
  • Good knowledge of databases (MS SQL Server/Sybase) and job scheduling systems (ideally UC4)
  • Knowledge of equity and commodity derivatives businesses would be useful but not mandatory
  • Candidates should be able to analyse issues while under pressure from the business and IT management
