As a leading international clinical and commercial manufacturer of biologics and pharmaceuticals, my client offers a broad range of integrated and stand-alone development services, stretching from cell line development through to the commercial supply of investigational medicinal products.

My client is currently looking to recruit an Associate Director, reporting to the Operations Director. The Associate Director, Operations will be responsible for the site Operational Groups including Product Delivery (cGMP Manufacturing) and Technical Support Services (Engineering, Validation, Warehousing and Facilities'). The successful candidate will manage operational functions and continuous improvement projects whilst ensuring financial, operational, quality and health & safety targets are met as required by the Company.

The main duties will include:-
  • To be a proactive member of the Keele Site Management Team to ensure that the appropriate strategy, goals, objectives and KPI's are set, monitored and delivered.
  • Responsible for the management of direct reports within Product Delivery and Technical Support Services
  • To manage operational strategy for the above groups. Operational planning and execution of contracts/in house works within the agreed budgetary limits and timelines.
  • To assist the Commercial team in sales and marketing activities by supplying timescales, costs, resource requirements and other information required to maximize sales and profit for the Company.
  • To deliver continuous improvement initiatives and special projects.
  • To deputize for the Operations Director and support the CEO.


The ideal applicant will possess a Degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering or other science related subject or equivalent qualification plus previous experience in managing multi-disciplinary project teams within an industrial cGMP environment, biologics experience preferable. Applicants should be able to demonstrate strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills and have previous experience of and able to demonstrate the ability to develop business objectives and contribute to strategic thinking.
