Essential aspects of this role are;
  • The management, and operation, of all aspects of new and current research and development
  • To ensure the regulatory compliance of the company and the products
  • To maintain close working relationships with operational personnel to enable effective, timely resolutions of technical and quality issues and promote continual improvements.
  • To oversee the development of, and continuously improve the company's QMS, with the target of maintaining accreditations to standards, including Medical Devices (ISO 13485), Cosmetics GMP (ISO 22716) and ISO 9001.


Areas of Responsibility
  • Product development through the implementation of a product development process, by managing internal and external resources, from consumer insights through to launch of products
  • Plan and deliver product designs which meet specified performance and cost criteria within development budget and timetable
  • Technical and quality support - both internally to sales and production, and externally to assisting and potential customers including legal/mandatory as well as technical guidance
  • Chemicals laboratory in support of operations.
  • Ensuring technical compliance to ISO standards and regulatory standards. Ensure the business is compliant with all Regulations with regard to CHIPS, REACH,ATEX, and EEC directives on Cosmetics, Biocides and Detergents
  • To monitor and improve the quality of manufactured finished goods, including effective complaint management, investigation and resolution.
  • To assist the factory in adhering to GMP that conforms to ISO standards, and to audit this
  • To manage product specifications relating to set-up of new products and changes to existing products.
  • To assist procurement/supply chain in ensuring that suppliers provide raw materials and components that meet the agreed and required standards.
  • To support Sales in managing customer audits and assisting with other customer visits
  • Maintain relationships with customers whilst offering a professional service
