Service Operations Windows & Networking Consultant - 6 Months - GloucesterType: 6 Month Contract
Rate: £25 - £27.50 per hour
Location: Gloucester
Start Date: May /June 2014
Computer Futures are looking for an experienced, dynamic IT professional with proven history of the delivery and support of Windows Servers in an enterprise WAN / LAN environment. My client look to realize the business benefits of technology and has demonstrated its ability to implement new technologies such as Apple's iPad / Mac's, cloud services and mobile devices. This has enabled our business to move forward in a challenging market environment.
Working as part of a technical team of IT specialists, you will be key to integrating a variety of services in to our existing core infrastructure. The server and virtual desktop estates are located in multiple Amazon Web Services regions and hosted datacenters.
The following technologies would form the core of your application suite and it is essential that you have worked with them in the last three months.
? Windows server
? IPv4 & IPv6
? Network routing - in the enterprise & multi-site
? Firewalls and web proxy
It would be beneficial, but not essential if the candidate has experience in the following technologies
? McAfee ePO
? Windows Software Update Services (WSUS)
? VPN appliances
? Virtual desktop
? Citrix virtualization
? Amazon Web Services
The role will also include integration of new technologies in to the existing service catalogue and involve the following.
? Performance monitoring and tuning
? Thorough understanding of networking, TCP / IP & routing
As a technical specialist there are also the following responsibilities.
? Participation in the Shift rota
? Liaising with external third parties
? Providing occasional support for out of core hours infrastructure maintenance
