An information analyst is required by a council on a contract basis for 6 weeks initially. Candidates should only apply if they have experience working within this industry.

PURPOSE OF JOB

To develop information and performance systems and solutions that meet the needs of service users, actively promoting the use of Business Intelligence for service improvement.  To ensure systems produce accurate and valid information in accordance with the Council's statutory requirements and local reporting needs.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIE

Manage and develop allocated Business Intelligence and performance systems for the collation, processing and analysis of data.

Work to ensure systems produce accurate and valid information which satisfies statutory and local publication and reporting requirements, including the Council's strategic planning and performance framework.

Provide analysis and reports for senior managers, members and partners in a variety of formats to meet user needs, prioritising requests as required.

Seek opportunities to improve Business Intelligence standards and proactively respond to the information needs of customers to support decision making processes and promote income generation.

Contribute towards the development of local performance frameworks, business plans and strategy development, actively promoting the use of Business Intelligence to drive service improvement and value for money.

Coordinate benchmarking with other authorities and sectors to inform performance analysis, contributing to national and regional forums.

Manage the completion and review of statutory returns, undertaking data cleansing, audit and validation processes as required.

Provide support, guidance and training for users on performance monitoring and the use of Business Intelligence and performance systems.

Liaise as necessary with all Council directorates, other local authorities, partners and external organisations.

Prepare and present reports at internal and external meetings, including those held outside normal office hours and partner organisations.

Lead and manage team, directing the work of staff to ensure compliance with current and future legislative requirements and departmental policies and procedures.
