Role: Senior Oracle ArchitectRate: Market rates (top end - up to £700/day)
Location: London
Duration: 6 month rolling
Main Function
- Work closely with technical leads, analysts and developers to design and implement Oracle solutions within a structured development process.
- Mentor the global database development sub-team by defining and championing design and coding best practice.
- Define, review, prove and own the data model and database sub-system architecture.
- Troubleshoot performance, concurrency and functional problems, and provide DBA guidance in several areas including storage and compression.
Main Duties and Requirements
- Expert Oracle programmer including PL/SQL, relational database design and performance tuning.
- Excellent modeling skills, with experience of implementing operational data stores as well as data warehousing approaches for Market Risk.
- Practical experience with ETL, metadata management, data lineage and impact analysis.
- Practical experience of designing and supporting systems which can store and report on large volumes of data (hundreds of millions of rows per day).
- Excellent understanding of the full SDLC lifecycle including both waterfall and iterative methodologies, and have experience of using branched development processes.
- Experience of scripting is expected, exposure to C# would be useful.
- Experience with mixed Oracle and SSAS implementations would be advantageous.
