Carbon60 are working closely with a key client who is looking to hire a Contracts Manager to work in Guilford. As a Contracts Manager you will be responsible for the Identification of commercial risks associated with proposal submittal and contract placement. Also as a Contracts Manager you will be involved in the drafting of commercial documentation: contract negotiation; contract management; support to the Engineering, Project Management, Business Development functions and Work Package Managers within our clients teams onsite in Guilford.

The Contracts Managers Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
You will help to raise the profile of our clients Commercial Department.
You will be involved in drafting & negotiation of contract terms and conditions including subcontracts, NDAs, MOUs, licences and all other commercial agreements required by our client in accordance with their internal governance.
You be required to work with BDS & Heads of Business in the development, submission & negotiation of sales contracts.
As a Contracts Manager you will Supporting the Project Managers & WPMs in the generation of Contract Change Notes, receipt, evaluation & negotiation of CCNs.Ensuring the management/reporting of accurate contract data, including contract value & amendments.Attending our clients vets to ensure that contractual issues are raised & solutions proposed.
Provision of regular reporting on key issues to the Head of Commercial.
Administration of nominated contracts to ensure that Project Managers/WPMs are aware of contractual risks & mitigation proposals.
Maintain contract related records including registry of all original contract documentation.
Any other reasonable task necessary to deliver solid commercial support to our client.

Qualifications
A degree in business, law or finance or equivalent.

Knowledge/Skills and Experience:
Proven commercial experience in a similar role within an engineering or high-tech industry (Space, Aerospace or Defence.
Customer/Supplier negotiations.

Skills & Attitude
In-depth knowledge of contract terms & conditions & their relevance to the business
Strong, assertive communication skills - able to listen, query, interact & influence at all levels, across all disciplines, both internally & externally
Good presentation skills
Attention to detail
Pragmatic, with ability to think outside the box
Willingness & ability to travel (nationally and internationally) for customer & supplier negotiations
Ability to cope under pressure to meet tight deadlines - strong drive to succeed
Proficient in all MS Office packages
Good, rounded commercial understanding

Please note all candidates must be able you able to gain full UK Security Clearance and work on American Defence projects to ITAR regulations

Knowledge of space industry contracting environment beneficial but not essential.
