Modelling Support Engineer
Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Duration: 12 Month Contract.
Start Date: 2nd June 2014.
Rate: €350.00 +
My Client is looking for a Modelling Support Engineer for the Rational Software Architect product family (with Eclipse and Java EE knowledge). You will be located in my clients Support Center in Amsterdam; the Netherlands. The Center offers remote consultancy services for my Clients customer's across EMEA. You will work with developers and analysts from global development companies, banks, system integrators, aerospace, service providers and telecommunications providers.
Responsibilities:
- Analysis of customer issues on a wide range of Modelling, Java, Java EE, Semantic Web or C++ technologies, using multiple Eclipse-based development environments.
- You will be troubleshooting Rational Software Architect Design Manager deployed to Tomcat and IBM WebSphere Application Server.
- You will deal with integrations with other products such as IBM Rational ClearCase, CVS, Rational Team Concert, Rational Requirements Management, Rational Quality Manager.
- You will also receive training and certification on the Kepner-Tregoe problem determination methodology.
Requirements:
- Degree Level Certified.
- Windows and Linux operating systems; experience as advanced user; UML (Unified Modelling Language) 2.2 hands-on knowledge; Object Oriented Languages (Java and possibly C++).
- Java 7 knowledge, including new language features not present in Java 1.4;
Eclipse: experience as advanced user (Platform, Debug, JDT and possibly CDT, DTP, BIRT). - Client Server environments and protocols (HTTP, XML, SOAP, XML Schemas, WSDL, REST).
- Databases: DB2, Oracle, MS SQL; basic database administration skills; basic database design skills
- JEE 5 and 6 knowledge. You can write simple examples of code.
- EJB 2.1, 3.0 and 3.1; JPA 1.0 and 2.0; Web Services (JAX-WS and JAX-RS)
- Application Servers (Tomcat or WebSphere Application Server, or WebSphere Portal Server but also others are acceptable).
- Troubleshooting Web applications written in JavaScript/Dojo, using AJAX.
- Fluency in English and (French or German.)
Nice to have:
- Experience writing plug-ins for Eclipse.
- BPMN (Business process Modelling Notation).
- Semantic Web technologies (RDF, SPARQL, OWL, OSLC).
- Configuration Management tools (CVS; Rational ClearCase; Rational Team Concert) and concepts.
- You can write/test code samples using various compilers and IDEs (Microsoft Visual Studio .NET .
- C# Language.
