Role description
TSB is the name for a new UK Retail Bank being created by Lloyds Banking Group (LBG). TSB will have 631 branches and be a major player in personal current accounts, mortgages, savings, credit cards and unsecured loans. TSB will remain part of LBG until it is transferred to a new owner. This will be done via an Initial Public Offering (IPO) which means TSB would be listed on the London Stock Exchange separately from LBG. This process is due to start in mid 2014. This follows an agreement reached between the European Commission, HM Treasury and LBG in November 2009 relating to State Aid.
The TSB CFDS team will be based predominantly in Edinburgh, with a presence in London, Bristol and Gloucester.
The team will be responsible for a variety of diverse activities including:
- the effective financial management of the Network, Operations & Corporate Core Cost Base for TSB
- covering Planning, Reporting, Cost Transfer Charging, Product Unit Costing, Asset Management and LBG contract management activities
- the team's remit spans beyond the strict confines of Network, Operations & Corporate Core financial management - it will be responsible for the establishment and ongoing management of a central spend management infrastructure for TSB
- The team is also responsible for managing the delivery of Finance Operations services for TSB (including Accounts Payable, Expenses, FTE reporting etc)
The Spend Management team is responsible for establishing a TSB-wide governance and control framework that drives cost consciousness behaviours and actions throughout the business. The team will design, implement and develop 'Functional' based Spend Management activities, Spend Wise Unit (Category) based spend management activities and Allocation & Product Costing activities in an effective and efficient manner to support the delivery of TSBs strategic objectives.
The Spend Management Spend Wise Contractor will be involved in shaping and developing the TSBs Spend Wise Unit (SWU) processes including standardised reporting; ongoing enhancement of governance and overall SWU process improvement. A large part of the role will be to review the existing processes and to transform them as appropriate.
The candidate should have a track record of effective delivery in a fast paced and dynamic environment and be capable of building strong relationships with colleagues across the TSB Business and Finance community.
The candidate will have a great opportunity to help shape a key TSB financial process and work with senior colleagues within the TSB Finance team in the implementation of this transformational activity. As such there is significant scope for personal development and visibility of contribution at a senior level.
Key Accountabilities
Transform the SWU processes and MI to make them fit for purpose'
Work with Finance Business Partners to make sure the processes and MI are standardised and can be leveraged across all SWUs where possible
Assist with the overall running of the SWU meetings/SWU governance ensuring that processes are documented, SWU packs are generated, the Intranet is updated and so on
Provide technical support and assistance to the business as appropriate with SWU related queries
