Under the direction of the Manager of Clinical Services for Information Technology, the analyst is responsible for providing the principal business and application support for assigned service groups, departments, and clinical applications. The Clinical Business Applications Analyst collaborates closely with end users, management, other IT staff, and vendors to ensure maximal benefits/optimization are obtained from new or installed systems and McKesson Paragon applications and that realistic expectations are maintained. Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement McKesson Paragon clinical applications
  • Determine best practice roll-out of application and perform team lead or project management duties if required
  • Conduct workflow analysis or process redesign
  • Design workflows and develop processes for redesign
  • File building, documentation and/or project management of the system implementation including Paragon Clinical Apps (Clinical Care Station, Pharmacy, Order Management, CPOE)
  • Serve as the primary contact for the application design and address any issues that arise from the client
  • Assist the project team in developing, monitoring, and managing technology support and operational implementation work plans


Applicable Skills:
  • Nurse, pharmacist, or other clinician with strong functional information technology (IT) background, combining analytical and problem solving skills
  • Hands-on experience implementing one or more clinical application for McKesson Paragon, ideally across multiple healthcare facilities
  • CPOE and application build experience, such as orders, order sets, results, tables, or dictionaries.
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills and customer service focus
  • Provide training, testing, and support during the implementation cycle
  • Must have installed Paragon Applications including building, testing, training, and go-live support
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to effectively present information to clinical and business leaders within the organization
