I am looking to hire a Revenue and Pricing Project Manager experience for retail sector client.

Job Description

An experienced Project Manager is required to work on the Revenue Management project within the Premier Inn business. This objective of this strategically important project is to enhance capabilities pricing decisions across the hotel estate. The project will deliver the technological platform for Price Optimization that will support improved accuracy and responsiveness of pricing, and will provide the framework for increased automation of pricing decisions and reduced reliance on the current manual spreadsheet processes.

Requirements

The candidate will need to manage multiple supplier and stakeholder relationships and include activities within project management of all aspects of Revenue Management projects including Requirements Gathering, Planning and execution of Development using Agile methodologies with third parties.

This is a role for an experienced project manager who should have managed similar projects (Revenue Management and BI). 

Key skills in this role are the ability to anticipate the unstated needs of the client with a clear and shared vision of the BI capability that can be delivered to support them along their business journey. 

An appreciation of the target BI architecture is needed to shape and direct the solution delivery - working with specialist BI Business Analysts and Architects to achieve the best solution for the client in the most effective manner.

The candidate will need to execute and manage RFP processes for development and support partners including the planning and direction of the activities required to conclude the RFP process successfully.

A key aspect of this role is the ability to build working relationships with business stakeholders within a challenging and rapidly changing business environment. The candidate will also be required to work with the business team to drive innovation in order to further improve insight and decision making in the pricing domain.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining the project plan in line with progress on a weekly basis, reflecting this in milestones reported in the Project Management Systems
  • Managing the project stakeholders and ensuring that both internal IS stakeholders and governance processes as well as the business stakeholders and user community are effectively and sufficiently engaged with the project
  • Managing Communication Plan - planning and executing the communication and wider change management processes to the variety of interested and affected parties
    This will include weekly highlight reports to stakeholders and the IS PMO as well as the Work Stream Lead for Decision Intelligence within IS.
  • Managing the project team - Internally: resourcing, task assigning and developing personnel as appropriate to their needs Externally: Managing third party resources and relationships to monitor and manage progress to plan
  • Managing the project risks and issues - Identifying, prioritizing and mitigating project risks and issues in a timely manner
  • Managing the project schedule - ensuring that progress to plan is unhindered and that sufficient focus on pace and urgency is exhibited on the critical path activities
  • Managing the project budget - tracking and managing against the project budget as well as executing the PMO financial management process as part of the governance and controls of the project
  • Ensuring that business engagement and buy-in is maintained throughout the project life cycle

Managing the project delivery - including the selection of a Support Partner through an RFP process as well as the development of the key technical capabilities using Agile methodologies.

Educational Level/Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree Level in numeracy related subject area
  • Prince 2 Practitioner

Desirable

  • Economics background 

Knowledge/Technical Skills

  • Understanding of pricing processes and concepts
  • Understanding of Business Intelligence on a technical and functional level
  • Use of Microsoft Project at Advanced level

Desirable

  • Use of any project management tools eg CA Clarity/Planview etc.

Experience

  •  Delivery of complex projects focused on pricing calculation or similar
  • At least 7 years of Project Management experience in formal, structured environments
  • At least 4 years of delivering Business Intelligence projects

Desirable

  • Experience of Revenue Management projects in Leisure or Travel

Non- Technical Skills

  • Excellence in stakeholder management and communication
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication with ability to understand and simplify complex requirements and concepts
