One of my top clients, A Financial Firm in Menlo Park, CA has an open role for Corporate Security Assistance.

This is a contract to hire role

Rate will be $35-$45/ hr DOE

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Information Security Procedures, Programs and Policies Management - Candidate will develop a policy framework based on industry standards and perform a gap analysis with the current internal information security policy and control standards.

Candidate will work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the development, enforcement of policies and procedures and the ongoing management and oversight of all Corporate Security procedures, programs, control standards and policies. (60%)

Security program and metrics reporting - Candidate will play a role in developing security metrics and reporting, security program reports, ah hoc reports and analysis as requested.(30%)

Candidate will participate in other security projects involving Corporate Security, as needed, such as participating in compliance and risk meetings, reviewing vendor assessments for security requirements, etc. (10%)
Required Skills & Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years in the Information Security field with audit and/or compliance experience a plus; direct, hands-on experience developing security metrics reports,; experience in identifying and integrating best practices into an information security program;
  • A working knowledge of building a policy framework based on industry standards such as 27001, COBIT
  • Experience managing security related projects and meeting critical deadlines;
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze security requirements and relate them to appropriate security controls;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for interaction with all levels of management
  • Excellent organizational skills and critical attention to detail and deadlines;
  • Communicates effectively with others to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions with project management;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft suite of products
  • Demonstrated sound judgment, tact and decision-making ability
  • Related compliance experience: PCI, GLBA, SSAE-16, SOX, FFIEC
  • Minimum four-year Computer Science degree, Journalism degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. CISSP, CISA certification preferred but not required.
