Our client, a globally recognised brand, are currently recruiting for a Commercial and Procurement Manager for a 3 month rolling contract based in London.

The Role

  • They are looking for a commercial and procurement manager to work as part of a dedicated team for one of their major clients. The candidate will be working as part of a team and will be responsible for sourcing and managing a group of categories predominately related to CRE Capital Projects on a global basis, covering c. 30-40 countries. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing and updating our existing database of suppliers and ensuring that they are fit for purpose, and running ongoing procurement exercises to refresh or choose new "best in class" suppliers in new or changing marketplaces.
  • The candidate will be responsible for setting the sourcing strategy and approach and managing an ongoing plan to ensure that suppliers are in place and onboarded to meet business requirements.

The role involves:

  • Establishing a standard mechanism and approach for grading suppliers across the business
  • Drafting standard RFP templates, evaluation matrices and approval documentation and aligning these with our contract templates
  • Reviewing and evaluating the existing suppliers used, and grading them in line with the required approach
  • Engaging with the business to understand focus areas for the future and planning to ensure best in class suppliers are in place for each area
  • Setting the sourcing strategy and approach for suppliers across main category items including Professional services (PJM, QS, M&E, Architecture & Design), Construction, Furniture and FM
  • Managing the delivery of sourcing engagements including running tenders and leading negotiations
  • Advising on contracting approach where applicable
  • Building and managing Total Cost of Ownership models to support decision making
  • Strategic planning to improve the capability in this area.

Candidates will have:

  • Excellent knowledge of procurement and sourcing approaches
  • Strong numerical capability
  • The ability to build financial models
  • Knowledge of financial concepts and terminology
  • Ambitious self starter with the ability to set and work towards long term goals and the drive to progress
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Knowledge and experience of international business
  • Experience in the Corporate Real Estate Category is an advantage

Skills

  • BA/BSc/MA/MSc
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Strong presentational and client management skills
  • Good analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong numerical skills, capable of grasping complex problems and solving them in a logical manner
  • Prior international experience
  • Language skills preferred
