Description

We’re a small user experience design firm based in San Francisco, working on Fortune 1000 corporate applications, mobile experiences and web sites. We’re looking for a junior-level web & application production designer to help us with consulting projects on a part-time freelance telecommuting basis.

We’d love to hear from you if:

  • You’re a quick learner on grids, and you are really good at measuring and spec’ing files. All your measurements are precise. You keep an eye on every pixel!
  • You enjoy designing forms, modals and other interface elements for corporate branded projects.
  • You love to create design pattern documents and layout guidelines.
  • You can create new designs based on existing templates, adhering to design principles already established and work from content wireframes we provide you.
  • You're extremely comfortable working in Photoshop CC, able to navigate larger files with multiple layers, familiar with layer styles, and able to extract CSS styles regarding typography.
  • When you work on a Photoshop file, you use the correct project fonts, color values and sizes in accordance with the established ux/visual design direction.
  • If you’re called upon to create both retina & standard resolution PNGs you know exactly what that means and how to efficiently make it happen.
  • You're knowledgeable of graphic asset production methods/requirements for Web, iOS, & Android.
  • You have a solid understanding of the technical side of web development including using tools for optimizing image assets and following efficient naming scheme, and you are knowledgeable about common file-formats and their properties.
  • You’re not necessarily a front-end developer, but you have a firm grasp of CSS.
  • You are familiar with Illustrator CC.
  • You are a self-starter with a strong work ethic, and don't require a lot of supervision.
  • You have a consistently positive attitude, you are a good communicator, and you enjoy working as part of a virtual team (emphasis on team).
  • You like working remotely, are based somewhere in the US, and you are super easy to reach by phone/email/sms/chat during the day. You respond quickly when you are contacted.
If this sounds like you and you’re interested, please send us the following:
  • A link to your portfolio of production work and explanation of your role on each project
Other notes:
  • Compensation: dependent on experience
  • Digital media skillsets: Photoshop and Illustrator are required. Ability to use other vector-based tools a plus.
