My client, an elite investment bank, located in Stamford, CT is looking for an experienced Financial controller to join their financial operations team. This is an initial six month contract paying between $40 and $45 per hour based on experience.Responsibilities will include providing independent analytical review and challenge to the monthly management accounts to drive consistency and quality of data. Analysis of P&L data to flag errors or anomalies. Identify invalid account combinations to be corrected by Financial operations by cross referencing sources to verify data. Develop SOX documentation for targeted areas
Monitor and control the firm's balance sheet, ensuring key reconciliations are undertaken and making recommendations on how we can further improve financial control and discipline across the firm. Independent review of balance sheets reconciliations to ensure that the quality and standard of reconciliations is appropriate for audit purposes to prevent any future issues.
Requirements:* Strong technical and analytical ability.
* Ability to develop new skills and understand new technology as required. * Excellent book keeping and management accounting skills.
* Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel.
* 1-3 Years in SOX documentation or Internal Audit
* Understanding on diversity of businesses and business operations
* Qualified Accountant
* Bachelors degree
* Management experience a plus
