IT Security Engineer - 9-12 months - BathType: 9-12 Month Contract
Rate: £300-£425 per day dependant on experience
Location: Bath
Start Date: June/July 2014
Market leading global organisation require an experienced IT Security Analyst with strong Windows/Wintel environments experience. You will deliver activities to support IT Security projects, resolve day to day IT Security operational problems, conduct auditing, analysis and remediation of penetration tests, and security testing of both business applications and infrastructure.

Key areas of the role:
* Actively monitor and respond to security events.
* Conduct security event and trend analysis to support the production of reports and statistics.
* Support Security investigations, including evidence gathering and IT forensics analysis.
* Communicate with technical and non-technical audiences at various levels.
* Provide technical security advice to projects, ensuring appropriate controls are in place to protect the business.
* Use popular tools to support investigations, e.g. Wireshark, tcpdump, Snort, nmap, nessus.
* Understanding of security principles, policies and industry best practices.
* Support Security Vulnerability Assessments, Penetration Testing of systems and networks and convey their results to the relevant team.Key Skills required:

* Windows & UNIX/Linux operating systems
Other comments:
You will be asked to assist the head of IT & other members of the IT team with ad-hoc projects & tasks when necessary. Some travelling to other offices may be required as part of this role.
