Market Risk and Controls Consultant - Contract
Control design, Documentation, Market Risk, Credit Risk
My client, a leading Investment Bank, is looking for a Market Risk and Controls Consultant on a contract basis, to be based in London. The Market Risk Co-ordination, Standards & Controls (CSC) team is part of the Market Risk function within the Investment Bank.
The main duties and responsibilities will be in relation to the administration of key Market Risk & Credit Risk Committees, including:
- Agenda management - liaison with senior management (Committee Chairs) to review and agree agendas, and ensure timely requests are sent to relevant submitters for materials.
- Preparation of meeting materials, involving liaison with various departments within and without Risk to obtain materials.
- Advance meeting administration, including: confirming quorum, room bookings, pack collation and printing.
- Attendance at meetings to ensure meeting is conducted in accordance with Committee Terms of References.
- Draft minutes, agree with Chair, and circulate to members for feedback. Ensure finalised versions are ratified at subsequent meeting and appropriately logged.
- Maintenance of Committee action trackers, including ensuring actions are followed up and closed out in a timely manner, and are appropriately evidenced.
- Other ad-hoc tasks related to Committee management.
Requirements:
- Strong multi-tasking and time management skills, ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of investment banking processes, ideally in a Risk environment (Credit Risk focus preferred). At least 3+ years post-qualification experience at an investment bank.
- Highly organized individual with strong attention to detail.
- Effective, clear communication skills, both written and oral.
- Confidence to engage with Risk staff at all levels.
Preferred:
- Prior experience co-ordinating technical Risk and/or governance committees.
- Previous experience of Credit/Market Risk models, risk management frameworks and controls.
