Progressive Global Energy has been tasked with sourcing a Landman for an exploration and production company in McAllen, TX. This major operator is seeking someone to work with their South Texas Business unit and the projects, negotiations and leases within the area.Below is a list of requirements a qualified candidate must have:
- 5-10 years of field and in-house, broad-based working experience in traditional land operations - South Texas experience preferred
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and reach closure within established timeframes
- Excellent verbal/written communication, organization and time management skills
- Excellent business skills and strong ethics
- Possess strong negotiation skills as well as experience recognizing, analyzing, and resolving difficult negotiating situations
- Ability to handle all aspects of field/surface landwork which includes, running title, abstracting, settling surface damages; acquiring oil and gas leases, rights of way, surface leases, saltwater disposal agreements; researching regulatory production reports and databases; also must be able to draft and negotiate all of the agreements related to the foregoing
- Outstanding team player with strong interpersonal skills to effectively work within a multi-disciplinary group to achieve project related goals
- Ability to train, develop and mentor staff whom are temporarily assigned to South Texas as part of their land department training
- Have understanding of applicable county, state and federal regulatory rules and procedures; and the ability to work closely with local municipalities to timely deliver critical drilling permits
- Strong ability to work effectively and coordinate activities with other groups in field operations offices, and with other Land Negotiators in Houston
- Strong PC skills, including MS Office Suite
