A top Investment Bank in New York is looking for an IT Infrastructure/System Engineer. This position will begin as a contract role, but is looking to be long-term, or turn full time. Please see more details below, and apply if interested!

Position: IT Infrastructure/System Engineer
Location: Midtown New York, New York
Duration: Minimum 6+ months, looking to extend/turn full time

Team:
This role is within the Electronic Markets Infrastructure team which is a part of Fixed Income Application Production Support. This global team provides platform and infrastructure management to all of the Fixed Income division's front office electronic trading systems. This is approximately 500+ systems running Windows and Linux with some Solaris. The team is also responsible for technically managing the application infrastructure of Electronic Trading applications and providing first line support of the infrastructure components within our remit.

Responsibilities:
* Working with local infrastructure teams to deliver evolutions of the electronic markets platforms
* Delivery of New York components of Global electronic markets infrastructure projects
* Working with counterparts to offer a seamless follow-the-sun support model. This implies management of technical issues in remote locations during New York hours
* Responsible for ensuring proper monitoring and capacity planning of local systems as a part of the global framework
* Resolution of issues on the New York ETS hubs

Key Skills:
* Unix/Windows
* Any experience with these applications is a plus: ION, Geneos, ServiceNow, Splunk, Bladelogic
* Support experience
* Network experience (firewalls, routers, gateways, etc..)
* Low latency
